Sakurai whimpered. With his back pressed against the wall the only thing he could do to give himself the illusion of getting away from Aomine was to angle his head and close his eyes. Aomine chuckled at his pathetic efforts and took another step closer.
"Aomine-san," he whined. "Please, put it down!”
He didn’t want it anywhere near him and Aomine knew that, he was simply being cruel, and Sakurai felt himself tear up.
"Come on, Ryou, don’t be a baby," teased Aomine.
Sakurai heard a soft mewl and wondered if it came from him. Then he felt a burning hot tongue on his cheek and yelped, eyes shooting open.
"Look, it likes you."
Sakurai stood there stunned, as Kuroko’s puppy was lapping at his face, making weird happy dog noises that eventually tore a chuckle out of him.
"Heh, yeah, it does," he laughed, finally allowing himself to pet the pup. "I’m sorry, Nigou-san."

“Just leave me alone,” seethed Aomine, narrowing his eyes at Ryou.
Sakurai flinched slightly but didn’t move from his spot. He knew Aomine-san didn’t really want to be left alone, no matter what he said. He knew Aomine was hurt and angry, and it might have been dangerous for Ryou to stay, but he wanted to offer comfort and soothe Aomine’s pain.
Sakurai knew very well how much Aomine-san cared about her, how much she meant to him; she’s been by his side all this time, a constant part of his life. Ryou bit his lip and put a tentative hand on Aomine’s shoulder, watching warily as Aomine’s jaw clenched.
“I’m so sorry, Aomine-san,” he said, his voice trembling.
“What am I going to do without her, Ryou?”
Sakurai almost whimpered at the broken sound of Aomine’s voice. He wanted to hug him, to cradle him in his arm until he stopped shaking. Aomine fumbled for his hand suddenly and squeezed it in his own, and Ryou allowed himself to wrap his body around Aomine-san’s back.
“I’m sorry,” he repeated. “No one had seen it coming, I’m so sorry.”
Aomine nodded stiffly as Sakurai continued to rub his arms. Eventually, he calmed down enough to take a deep breath and untangle himself from Ryou’s limbs. The way Aomine looked at him nearly broke Sakurai’s heart but he forced himself to stay composed for Aomine-san’s sake.
Aomine lifted his head to look up at the sky and sighed heavily. “I can’t believe Mai-chan retired…”
DIDN’T EXPECT THAT!
that’s how i understood the “and” between their names
Kuroko’s eyebrows rose in surprise when he saw the caller to be Aomine-kun. Even though, ever since they graduated high school, the members of the Generation of Miracles were on much better terms, it was still rare for Aomine-kun to just call in the middle of the week.
“Hello,” he offered tentatively.
Aomine-kun whined on the other side of the line. “Tetsu. Come pick me up.”
Kuroko refused, of course, without a second thought. It was so typical of Aomine-kun to selfishly request something like that, but Kuroko was long past experiencing fondness in those situations.
“Don’t be an asshole, Tetsu,” slurred Aomine. “I’m sad and drunk and I need you to pick me up.”
Kuroko sighed. “What happened.”
